PCMA to Pivot: What the Rebrand Means for Your Organization

Pivot Editorial Team

June 30, 2026

Pivot Crisis Intervention has a new name, a new look, and a more comprehensive training system than the one that existed under the PCMA brand. If your organization has worked with us before or is evaluating crisis intervention training for the first time, here is what has changed and what has stayed the same.

What Changed

PCMA (Professional Crisis Management Association) is now Pivot Crisis Intervention. Our new name reflects our continued commitment to prepare organizations and staff to prevent crises and respond effectively when they occur.

Along with the name change, we’ve:

  • Rebuilt our website to provide a clearer path to information about the learning model, certification tiers, and pricing.—making it easier to find what you need, evaluate your options, and get started without friction.
  • Changed our pricing model to an annual subscription that includes recertifications, so your organization can plan and budget predictably without separate renewal processes each year.
  • Simplified our certification structure from seven levels to three pathways: Associate, Practitioner, and Instructor. Within each pathway, staff progress through defined levels, so the development journey is clear.
  • Restructured our learning model to combine online self-paced modules with live facilitated sessions, so staff can complete foundational content on their own schedule and apply skills in structured, real-world scenarios with a certified instructor.
  • Expanded our customer support to include dedicated Customer Success Managers for Professional and Enterprise subscribers, giving your organization a named partner who supports onboarding, monitors account health, and stays accountable to your outcomes throughout the year.

What Stayed the Same

The crisis intervention methodology behind every certification remains unchanged. The team that delivers training and supports customers is the same. Our work continues to be guided by prevention, dignity, and a commitment to improving outcomes in the real world.

For Current Customers

If your organization was certified under PCMA, your certifications remain valid. As part of the transition to Pivot, existing certifications will be aligned with the appropriate tier in the new certification structure. Your Customer Success Manager will guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have. No action is required on your part at this time.
